last monday was hari raya aidiladha or hari raya qurban / korban (both are correct). went to tg karang, a place where u'l find almost every1 is jawanese. me? duno. im portugese persian mix. jk.

well i wud say 'balik kampung' was so interesting. yeah dun expect streamyx or shisha or movie. got paddy fields (is this d correct spelling? i mean sawah padi). so my cousin and i decided to go fishing. plus i planned to take some pics.
frankly speaking, fishing isnt my thing. they said fishing is all bout patience and passion. wtv. but yeah i did enjoy d moment. and we managed to catch ikan keli and ikat puyu. whales? ahh go watch free willy. jk.

went to Pulau Langkawi last two weeks. my close friends, belle together with her friends alya suraya. suraya brought her friends anis danial shida. and shida brought her bf allen. so we didn really know each other. and we were gonna spend 4 days together. what? owh yeah 4 days.

pulau langkawi. was awesome as always. d view. d beaches. d duty free stuffs. d local peeps. d whites. d poyo beach boys. d reggae clubs. owh really love it.

we stayed at tg malie, next to DZON duty free. ahhh next to underwater world (if u dun know where it is). rented a van for 4 days. owh quite cheap. 350 bux. and splitted into 8. around 40 plus each person had to pay. d resort oso was quite cheap. yeah budget hotel. each paid 90 for 4 days. two rooms wit two master bedrooms, tv without astro (ahhh), showeroom wit heater, aircon was damn cold.

everynite we had seafood for dinner. delicious. d only word. but had to pay quite a price. oso went to clubs and bars. d first night, enigma at aseania. emm not bad but not really good. d second nite was sunba. d best. reggae house trance rnb. just name it. d third nite, lily's bar. by d beach. fire actions by the beach boys. really entertaining.

shopping. gaaah what else do u expect. chocs. cigars. beers. wtv. all cheap. everyday i smoked cigars. felt like i was in hawaii something. yeah u can get cigars in kl but d price does matter. wit 2 bucks u can get a big, long flavored cigar. owh yeah.

ahh to many things to tell. u better go there. never regret.

well last weekend right after my langkawi trip, a friend of mine texted me and she was like 'hey topan long time no see lets lepak'. was so tired i replied 'see how la babe'. naah u know hows d feeling after got back from vacation right.

ahhh d invitation to lepak was so tempting, knowing that some of my close friends were joining. so we went to ministry of sound, euphoria at sunway. some of them were realy want to experience d feeling of dancing on d shaking grounds.

there were reno topan raul justin nithi farah sha ain. but since nithi was still underage (his birthday is next month) so we caught into trouble. after a long discussion, we agreed to go to bar club at doraisamy.

later azam kamal and hana joined us. it was a great night out. nothing much happened. just lepak-ing and dancing. should do more often. exercise.

well this article is taken from Bernama. i read d newspaper today. there is about 10% of students who managed to get straight A's for their UPSR. whoa approximately 500k students sat for this exam. that means about 50k student got straight A's. not bad not bad =)

The outcome of the Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) result tomorrow would be a determining factor for the education ministry on whether to continue teaching mathematics and science subjects in English.

Deputy Education Minister Datuk Razali Ismail said today the Federal Cabinet would take the result into account, together with other factors, before making their final decision on the issue.

He was speaking at a press conference after closing an international conference, 'Indigenous Pedagogies in Diverse Cultural Contexts' here.

The 518,616 pupils who sat for the UPSR examination this year is the first group which studied mathematics and science in English in 2003.

Meanwhile, Razali said as of June, this year, the ministry had completed 2,875 out of 12,905 rural school infrastructure projects earmarked for implementation under the Ninth Malaysia Plan.

He added that another 3,080 projects were under construction.

Razali said the ministry had allocated about RM8.21 billion for the infrastructure projects which also included construction of 1,996 pre-schools in rural areas to cater to 50,000 students.

He added that about RM160 million was already allocated by the ministry to intensify educational and health programmes for the Penans and Orang Asli.

Love Movie : James Bond Quantum Of Solace

james bond? naah i can oni think d word of overrated. i duno why but im quite dissappointed with dis quantum of solace movie (u can count how many times they mentioned 'quantum' in d film). d actions were great (expected kan!?) but d storyline was weak.

is james bond a superhero? nope i dun think so. so how come not even a single bullet hit any of his body parts? if ure talking bout batman or spiderman, even keluangman, dat does make sense.

well olga wasnt bad tho i think got many many more candidates are suitable to take her role. hehe u can see all heroins (is dis d correct spelling?! sory) before were smoking hot. olga was unique with her own way. gaga.

if i were to give rating to dis movie, i wud say 7 out of 10. no offense to james bonds fans, this is my personal point of view. it can be right, it can be wrong as well. but i had fun watching it =)

1. Don’t start with profundities
When I began my Happiness Project, I realized pretty quickly that, rather than jumping in with lengthy daily meditation or answering deep questions of self-identity, I should start with the basics, like going to sleep at a decent hour and not letting myself get too hungry. Science backs this up; these two factors have a big impact on happiness. Learn how to Get a Good Night's Sleep.

2. Do let the sun go down on anger
I had always scrupulously aired every irritation as soon as possible, to make sure I vented all bad feelings before bedtime. Studies show, however, that the notion of anger catharsis is poppycock. Expressing anger related to minor, fleeting annoyances just amplifies bad feelings, while not expressing anger often allows it to dissipate. (See 16 Ways to Manage Your Anger from Real Simple)

3. Fake it till you feel it
Feelings follow actions. If I’m feeling low, I deliberately act cheery, and I find myself actually feeling happier. If I’m feeling angry at someone, I do something thoughtful for her and my feelings toward her soften. This strategy is uncannily effective.

4. Realize that anything worth doing is worth doing badly
Challenge and novelty are key elements of happiness. The brain is stimulated by surprise, and successfully dealing with an unexpected situation gives a powerful sense of satisfaction. People who do new things — learn a game, travel to unfamiliar places — are happier than people who stick to familiar activities that they already do well. I often remind myself to “Enjoy the fun of failure” and tackle some daunting goal.

5. Don’t treat the blues with a “treat”
Often the things I choose as “treats” aren’t good for me. The pleasure lasts a minute, but then feelings of guilt and loss of control and other negative consequences deepen the lousiness of the day. While it’s easy to think, I’ll feel good after I have a few glasses of wine…a pint of ice cream…a cigarette…a new pair of jeans, it’s worth pausing to ask whether this will truly make things better.

6. Buy some happiness
Our basic psychological needs include feeling loved, secure, and good at what we do and having a sense of control. Money doesn’t automatically fill these requirements, but it sure can help. I’ve learned to look for ways to spend money to stay in closer contact with my family and friends; to promote my health; to work more efficiently; to eliminate sources of irritation and marital conflict; to support important causes; and to have enlarging experiences. For example, when my sister got married, I splurged on a better digital camera. It was expensive, but it gave me a lot of happiness bang for the buck.

7. Don’t insist on the best
There are two types of decision makers. Satisficers (yes, satisficers) make a decision once their criteria are met. When they find the hotel or the pasta sauce that has the qualities they want, they’re satisfied. Maximizers want to make the best possible decision. Even if they see a bicycle or a backpack that meets their requirements, they can’t make a decision until they’ve examined every option. Satisficers tend to be happier than maximizers. Maximizers expend more time and energy reaching decisions, and they’re often anxious about their choices. Sometimes good enough is good enough.

8. Exercise to boost energy
I knew, intellectually, that this worked, but how often have I told myself, “I’m just too tired to go to the gym”? Exercise is one of the most dependable mood-boosters. Even a 10-minute walk can brighten my outlook. Try one of these 15-Minute Workouts.

9. Stop nagging
I knew my nagging wasn’t working particularly well, but I figured that if I stopped, my husband would never do a thing around the house. Wrong. If anything, more work got done. Plus, I got a surprisingly big happiness boost from quitting nagging. I hadn’t realized how shrewish and angry I had felt as a result of speaking like that. I replaced nagging with the following persuasive tools: wordless hints (for example, leaving a new lightbulb on the counter); using just one word (saying “Milk!” instead of talking on and on); not insisting that something be done on my schedule; and, most effective of all, doing a task myself. Why did I get to set the assignments?

10. Take action
Some people assume happiness is mostly a matter of inborn temperament: You’re born an Eeyore or a Tigger, and that’s that. Although it’s true that genetics play a big role, about 40 percent of your happiness level is within your control. Taking time to reflect, and conscious steps to make your life happier, really does work. So use these tips to start your own Happiness Project. I promise it won’t take you a whole year.

hehe dis is funny and somehow annoying! well on weekends we usualy come out wit crazy plans *lepak hartamas x kira la hehe* dis time fiqo was d organiser.. haha spt yg dijangka mmg lambat dari plan asal! janji hobbit lalalala~

then around 3am baru sibuk2 calling fido.. owh we lepaked at fiqo's.. got opal rahmat topan and him.. fido buat hal kata ondw and x semayang lg.. so we waited him.. around 4am baru gerak from sg penchala!

haish penat celebrate merdeka x abes lg.. then a friend of mine, dyane textd me and was like 'topan i nk pegi rantai! jom jom!' so dalam otak topan timbul nama miza and shaznee and madi and kamal etc.. so i started texting evrybody.. shit mambo! oni shaznee can make it..

it was situated at Peninsular, Pusat Damansara.. d place was awesome! i guessed not less than 500bux per nite kot.. so i came around 10pm *and it was still damn early!* ppl came around 1230am damn shit! hehe so lepak wit them and played some jokes.. really fun!

so pagi pagi we had breakfast at taj curry house next to sunway pyramid..around 12pm we entered sunway lagoon..damn panas la that day! first we entered haunted house or they call it scream park! sigh very dissapointing la..tak takut langsung! seriously! sbb wut we heard was oni ppl screaming and patung2 bosan..yang prison break tu not bad la..i like d concept =)

then we played all the rides there..not bad! compared to genting highlands i tink sunway lagoon was better la..last i went to genting, oni cockscrew and solero je yg best..here got many many rides yg thrill la..

owh well afte a very loooong time for not watching any theatre, i watched dis theatre with haziq..he used to be my teathre dude back to when i was in alam shah..almost every single we acted together..plus hes having his break now..

this is fauziah nawi's production so we expected sumtin 'wow' from her..yeah it was! tho i dun realy like experimental theatre, but dis one was kinda unique..there were 7 plays in one play! plus oso got musical element had been put inside..

i liked 5 out of 7 plays..and got dis one i cudn remember d title, was very awesome..it was about dis man married to dis one very kind lady..mamat ni cam cacat kaki la..but he used to be a good fighter *sangat hebat bersilat* whoa i watched him epxressed himself bapak touching la..i wish i can be and act like that LOL

well it was a gud trip wei i tell u =) went to pulau kapas, terengganu wit my colge fwens. serap stayed at my place for like 3 days before we off to terengganu *haha sowy babe aritu round2 x jumpa nyah* xde rezeki! LOL

berbekalkan semangat dan azam yang tinggi, kami menaiki Sani Express double decker babe..teringat iklan makanan ringan =) haha i slept all d way to terengganu! bapak penat babe..serap played my psp and surprisingly didn sleep at all! 'ko makan dadah ke pe?' tanya topan kpd serap.. LOL

arrived around 5am kat stesen bas kuala terengganu *d biggest bus stop ever..SANGAT!* haha met up wit pai and shuin picked us up wit his kembara *bawak xnak slow plak tu* lepaked kejap kat umah shuib and went to buy stuffs kat mydin. petang tu we lepaked tepi pantai, tepi airport layan keropok leko dan air nyur! layan babe! izzat peng peluh and kamal were oso there..owh and aslam as well. owh before that we went to masjid kristal..owh such a beautiful mosque! d place oso was gud and very commercial one.

dat nite we lepaked dis one place called mayang village! *a place like hartamas la* huhu i introduced 'hello jack' to them *a card game* haha cam org gila sekor2! gelak cam tempat tu kerajaan negeri mmg bagi kat kitorg.. LOL

d next morning we off to d island.. haha cam beruk jakun sume dlm boat! but it wasnt our fault wei..abg driver tu leeeek je bawak laju2! terbang babe! hehe sampai je we set up d tents..belom pape lagi sume dah gle nk main volleyball..so played for one round and had a tour on pulau kapas..bapak besar weiii! and ramai mat salleh sexy! LOL

owh petang around 230pm we went for snorkelling..haha bapak kelakar la tgk serap kelam kabut dlm air..badan je besar! but betul gak..those yg x used to water mmg bahaya wei klu suro snorkelling or diving..best gle wei! cos d corals were damn pretty! unlike kat langkawi yg x best langsung *particularly to dis unknown island la* owh d scariest thing was landak laut..bapak byk la kat bwh tu..takot gle tbe2 dia naik and attack kitorg ke..sume ada wild imaginations LOL!

petang tu like usual la we played futsal and volleyball again! owh i met dis old fwen from rmc! his name is kimi..i was tackling serap kat tepi pantai *saja saja xde keje* and he saw and tegur me..he was like 'ko main rugby ke' and i was like 'yup la since f1' then borak2 and we happened to meet several times before.. biasa la rugby mmg small small world =) afte mandi2 we balik to our campsite.

dat nite we had bbq! best gle gle! pai was our chef..damn sedap la he cooked..x sampai 10 mins sume abis! sedap hingga menjilat jari babe! =) owh afte dat we lepaked by d beach..ada tikar and unggun api and stuffs..we sang like crazy! layan rock kapak la kononnya..and shockingly after 4 songs, suddenly there was dis loud song and we thot it was wind sound.. yeah we were right! tiba tiba angin ribut damn kuat wei..some tents terbang..but luckily ours were okay la..sume masuk dlm tents and doa2 banyak2..haha in my mind i thot sumtin like acheh..pls god! =) after like one hour, dah okay la everything..but my tent and shuib's damn banjir la sbb bocor..haha pastu sume ada hati nak wat nite walk! konon adventurous la..ur head la my dudes! but ended up we walked to d lighthouse and dis one place called private property *got dis one white lady kuar cam naked and asked us 'wut u guys doin here?' hehe* last2 lepak kat port watching ppl fishing..LOL

d next morning we went for kayaking! wut an experience la babe! i had to steer single kayak..was damn hard i tell u! sbb senang gle terbalik..luckily i had some gud experiences of kayaking..then it went well la..afte makan2 we chow..muka masing2 lemau dan letih..and gelap too! LOL

got booths, food, performances. since haziq js got back 4m france so bawak la dia layan acoustics. d performers pon werent bad. they were dy known for their talent! but ana raffali caught my attention d most la.. yeah yeah she was cute, wit a great voice and gud personality. her songs pon bapak best la. i saw d audience was like tak berkelip babe! owh yeah i got dis opportunity to sing along wit one buck short! bapak malu babe.. diorg goreng lagu pkai gitar and ive to put d lyrics! punya merapu la.. haha enjoy kot! zatil pon kena jugak =)

haha topan is so so so pemalas. these two dinners actualy took place last week. but due to no blogging mood, therefore just oni today baru nk letak in my blog. haha =)

well khazanah dinner was held at Mandarin Oriental Hotel next to KLCC. it was indeed a great place with nice food. unfortunately, i didn realy enjoy dat due to 'informal' ice breaking session with d super juniors. yeah i didn get chance to meet them in any camps or courses. unlike aimran daniel n etc they went to leadership tracks which i dy attended last yr. so just nothing special. met with datuk mustapha mohamad and some khazanah bigshots like tan sri azman mokhtar. bla bla bla and tadaaaaaaa sesi bergambar! =)

uem dinner took place d following nite. i had to come to d rehearsal in d morning. was okay la. then went there wit my bro n his wife. whoa cam anugerah era plak. for me better than khazanah dinner la. since got lotsa performances. haha damn cool la d uem choir team. lalalalalal~ also got dayang nurfaizah and idk whos d winner for one in a million dis yr, she had a great great voice! got some kyuem dudes and their family like michelle, serena, fiqry and muadz as well. best best dpt certificates and money =)

fuhhh it was my 2nd tym visit to KL Tower. same old same old without anytin new besides d promotions. well i was there to support my fwens band *TABLOID* actualy nk pegi sorg and lepak kejap je. then miza textd me and ajak. so we *topan miza shaz* went and arrived there arnd 7pm. gosh x start lg tho in d tentative suppose to start at 6pm!

so we lepak kejap wit kamal and some tabloid fellas. ayap was wit belle as usual. bullet was helping his fwens to sell tshirts. rashid and fwens were kacau-ing d stall keepers and awek awek. so hungry so we decided to have dinner but wut to do, there wasn any cheap food there. so we ate burger and bejo oni beb!

so much of started on time! until 9pm sumtin, baru generator dpt dipasang. idk wut was d prob but i tink d management shud take d responsibilities =) miza shaz and i had to leave early so x sempat la tgk their performance. but it was fun la to lepak wit those guys.

haha so lazy la to write.. but since audrey asked me *forced me i wud say* then ok la.. give her a damn! well last saturday *idk which saturday* went to UrbanScapes wit some fwens. initialy so many ppl PLANNED to join but sumtin came up *yeah always like dis* agak malas nk pegi but ayee *or ppl call him panda* asked me to lepak wit him, then i agreed.

arrived around 4pm. he was there waiting for othe fwens. then ilya and mira came. lepak for a while wit burn *flyfm or xfreshfm deejay* afte dat, then reno and ali came. so we lepak and pusing2 while waiting yuna to perform. ayee was so crazy bout her *haha gila gila*

planned to meet my ex *my first one* but she chow awal so ended up berjalan2 smpai penat. around 530 watched mia palencia *sheryl crow msia* and then yuna. she got a great voice, really. but d songs were okay la xde sedap gile babs pon.

haha wilderness? wth man! i thot we were goin to a place near beach. wut to do majority wanted dat.. we went there on wednesday. last min plan cos we supposed to go there on friday. some of us x boleh cos sumtin came up. plus me got mercy community service. arrived at fido's place arnd 8am. planned to go around 830am. haha again so so janji melayu. they were sleeping! after breakfast at mamak, we chow la around 1030am =p

first we stopped by at muffy's place to pick him up. then off to ak-ar's place. lepak n lepak n lunch at jerantut. around 430 jugak la sampai. we lookd for chalets at taman negara but d price was damn expensive! can u imagine 280bux per nite per chalet for 2pax! d same price wit a standard room of 5 stars hotel. wth wit these ppl. wut to do. tourism place la katakan. so we decided to stay at cheaper chalets opposite taman negara. haha guess how much? 10bux for each person per nite. waaaaaaaaaaay cheaper beb! =p

malam tu we lepaked and gossiped and played cards. so many stories we managed to catch up. d best thing was we played dis one card game named 'hello jack' it was damn klaka. later i post d video la. we slept early around 1am cos damn tired. but some of us yang gayut gayut till late. lantak la =p

after that we went for canopy walking. jambatan gantung tinggi gle kot. was like 300m above. muka sume nak gayat je. LOL! took some pics and realy had a great time. d views were superb cos u can see d whole taman negara *some parts cannot la* hehe exeggerate!

then we had lunch. so banyak la d lauk. thanks ak-ar! he arranged dat since his uncle was sort of like a bigshot in taman negara. after dat lepaked for awhile and tadaaaaaaaa - snorkelling time! d journey took almost 30mins to get the place. d river was so jernih u can see d fishes *local ppl call it ikan kelah* can u imagine d ikan was like several centimetres from u? somtyms u can feel d ikan was playing wit ur butt! haha geli geli =p

penat penat we decided to go back to chalets. planned to lepak dat nite but since we thot wasted la to stay without any activity. so we decided to go to genting. packed our stuffs like in 10mins and chow. cos we dun wanna travel at late nite. d place was so gelap and quite dangerous. mau plak tbe2 ada gajah melintas kan. LOL! so we had supper at genting sempah and arrived at genting highlands around 230am. at first nak stay kat hotel but felt like not worth it then decided to sleep in d car je. i cant cos i need space to sleep so opal and i slept at mcd. quite okay la since got some ppl jugak yg slept there.

d next morning we went breakfast and bought d tix *haha x mandi beb* each of us paid 38bux for d tix. we tried all d games inside. haha space shot was d best la! tertinggal mata dan perutku di udara. LOL! we played till 2pm and had lunch at kenny rogers. afte dat sambung till 5pm. ondw back i slept all d way cos tired gle dow. poor fido had to drive d car. wut to do. his car =p

arrived at fido's place around maghrib time la. had dinner and we watched back d video we took along d trip. we laughed and laughed like hell. haha it was one of best trip ever in my life!

well well i tink every1 felt d same way like i did for d final week at KYUEM *you rock! tho ure oni a collge, not human being* so many feelings wei. sedih gembira riang terharu dan lain lain bercampur baur mcm buat kek. frankly, i tink 2 years in KYUEM is much much meaningful and better than 5 years in Alam Shah. Tink bcos of d life here. In Alam Shah, for d first 3 years usualy u just follow d seniors and cant tink wut gud and bad for u. and later u realize and start analysing ur action. but somehow and sometimes it is too late. but in kyuem, it is bout survival. those came there were all superb all rounders. in order to survive uve to use ur brain as well as ur talent and PR skill. plus sumore d fwens here were more open and helpful. they didn realy discriminate ppl. and they entertain those who made lawak kering like me!

It's great as a good night kiss ("Did you get home safely?"). It's great to reconfirm things ("What time are we meeting on Sunday? Let me know.") It's great for when you want to lob in a quick message to someone when they can't talk on the phone ("Can't wait to see you tonight.")

Texting is all about short conversations, and can be useful and fun in the dating context. Texting used in certain other ways, however, gets ugly within the dating context -- and can really get you into trouble. Some of these uses should be avoided because they can cause unintended misunderstandings, while others are simply bad manners or outright rude!

So, here are seven of the biggest misuses of texting that you should avoid in the

dating context:

1. Save the Jokes. One drawback of texting (as with any written form of communication) is that it is sometimes difficult to convey the tone of what you write. Words are often misinterpreted. You can text somebody something that you think is a joke, and they don't read it that way. This will get you into trouble, because they may never call you back and give you the opportunity to straighten out the misunderstanding. So if you want to tell someone you're dating a joke, it's best to save it and tell it to them in person.

2. Texting is Not Intended to Cancel a Date. If you don't want to see somebody again, you need to call them and cancel the plans. Texting is the chicken way to blow someone off, whether you ever intended to see them again or not. Texting is not an excuse to be rude. Be a grown-up and pick up the phone.

3. Don't Ask Someone Out via Text Message. Women especially can't stand when a guy asks them out via text messaging. Every woman I've spoken to thinks that when a guy asks them out via text message, that he really is not that interested in them. They all wish a guy would just pick up the phone. Guys, if you're interested then be a man and just pick up the phone! Granted, some women will say yes to a text date, but they will always prefer if you call them.

4. Avoid the 'Morning After' Text. If you had a great date with someone the night before, don't text the person the minute you get up the next morning. Wait a few hours. Let the post-date recap settle down on both sides. Give someone a little time to think about you. There's no harm in waiting a few hours, especially after a first date. You don't want to look over-anxious.

5. Keep the Texting to a Minimum. Once you've texted back and forth a few times, and unless one of you is in a Turkish prison being tortured by a not-so-friendly cell mate, you need to pick up the phone and have a real conversation. You will not discover whether you share a true connection with someone by conversing with them via text message. Also, as two adults, you need to have an actual voice-to-voice conversation. So go ahead and exchange a few texts, but then get yourself on the phone!

6. You May Not Get an Answer. Just because you texted someone, doesn't mean they're going to respond. This is another issue with using text messaging as your main communication method -- especially in the dating context. You're texting back and forth with someone, then you send something to them and they don't respond. They may have gotten on the phone. They may have fallen asleep. They may have gone into a meeting. Because texting is so impersonal, though, you don't know what happened to them.

7. You Are Left Wondering. Let's say you texted someone on a Tuesday, they responded to your text, you texted them again and... now it's Friday and they still haven't texted back. What does someone do in that situation? They may not be keeping a text count like you are. They may have forgotten to text you back because they got on a long phone call or got caught up in some work, and your text may have gotten lost. Let me ask you a question? Do you answer every email that comes in... or does one sometimes get buried and go unanswered? If you haven't heard from someone in a few days, pick up the phone and call them. You never know what they're response is going to be. Most of the time you're going to be pleasantly surprised, but all of the time you're going to get your answer. That's what dating is all about... getting answers. Plus, you won't drive yourself and your friends crazy wondering.

Have u listened to Gloomy Sunday? Well a fwen of mine suggested me to feel the 'taboo' delivered by this song. Unfortunately for me this song is no less than an EMO song *sort of a sad, depressing song* Yeah cos dats wut ppl call it nowadays. But I found an interesting article bout this song.

Gloomy Sunday - the notorious 'Hungarian Suicide Song' - was written in 1933. Its melody and original lyrics were the creation of Rezső Seress, a self-taught pianist and composer born in Hungary in 1899.

The crushing hopelessness and bitter despair which characterised the two stanza penned by Seress were superseded by the more mournful, melancholic verses of Hungarian poet László Jávor.

When the song came to public attention it quickly earned its reputation as a 'suicide song'. Reports from Hungary alleged individuals had taken their lives after listening to the haunting melody, or that the lyrics had been left with their last letters.

The lyricists Sam M. Lewis and Desmond Carter each penned an English translatation of the song. It was Lewis's version, first recorded by Hal Kemp and his Orchestra, with Bob Allen on vocals (1936), that was to become the most widely covered.

The popularity of Gloomy Sunday increased greatly through its interpretation by Billie Holiday (1941). In an attempt to alleviate the pessemistic tone a third stanza was added to this version, giving the song a dreamy twist, yet still the suicide reputation remained. Gloomy Sunday was banned from the playlists of major radio broadcasters around the world. The B.B.C. deemed it too depressing for the airwaves.

Despite all such bans, Gloomy Sunday continued to be recorded and sold.

People continued to buy the recordings; some committed suicide.

Rezső Seress jumped to his death from his flat in 1968.

NEW YORK (Reuters Life!) - Liars might think they are good at covering up their deceit but a new Canadian study shows there's one thing they can't control that will give them away -- flashes of emotion in their faces.

Researchers at Dalhousie University's Forensic Psychology Lab in Halifax conducted the first detailed study on the secrets revealed when people put on a false face or inhibit various emotions, and found their faces told the truth.

But instead of clues like shifty eyes or sweaty brows, their expression would crack briefly, allowing displays of true emotions such as happiness, sadness, disgust and fear to come through.

"Unlike body language, you can't monitor or completely control what's going on your face," Stephen Porter, who worked on the research, said in a statement.

The researchers, who reported their findings in journal Psychological Science, examined the case of Canadian Michael White who sobbed as he made a public appeal for the return of his missing pregnant wife Liana White in July 2005.

But three days later, flashes of anger broke through his sadness and he said he was so frustrated with the police that he was going to find his wife himself, leading volunteer searchers directly to her body in a ditch on the outskirts of Edmonton.

He was charged and convicted of second-degree murder.

When Porter and his team analyzed White's plea frame by frame, they found hints of anger and disgust in his face, not noticed by most of the public.

The researchers also studied adult who were asked to view images that ranged from happy (puppies playing) to fearful (a close-up of open-mouthed rabid dog) and disgusting (a severed hand).

They were told to respond with genuine or deceptive expressions and their reactions recorded.

Porter said no one was able to falsify emotions perfectly. Some emotions were harder to fake than others. Happiness was easier to fake than disgust or fear.

Women seeking a lifelong mate might do well to choose the guy a notch below them in the looks category. New research reveals couples in which the wife is better looking than her husband are more positive and supportive than other match-ups.

The reason, researchers suspect, is that men place great value on beauty, whereas women are more interested in having a supportive husband.

Researchers admit that looks are subjective, but studies show there are some universal standards, including large eyes, "baby face" features, symmetric faces, so-called average faces, and specific waist-hip ratios in men versus women.

.

Past research has shown that individuals with comparable stunning looks are attracted to each other and once they hook up they report greater relationship satisfaction. These studies, however, are mainly based on new couples, showing that absolute beauty is important in the earliest stages of couple-hood, said lead researcher James McNulty of the University of Tennessee. But the role of physical attractiveness in well-established partnerships, such as marriage, is somewhat of a mystery.

The new study, published in the February issue of the Journal of Family Psychology, reveals looks continue to matter beyond that initial attraction, though in a different way.

McNulty's team assessed 82 couples who had married within the previous six months and had been together for nearly three years prior to tying the knot. Participants were on average in their early to mid-20s.

Researchers videotaped as each spouse discussed with their partner a personal problem for 10 minutes. The tapes were analyzed for whether partners were supportive of spouses' issues, which included goals to eat healthier, to land a new job and to exercise more often.

"A negative husband would've said, 'This is your problem, you deal with it,'" McNulty said, "versus 'Hey, I'm here for you; what do you want me to do?; how can I help you?'"

A group of trained "coders" rated the facial attractiveness of each spouse on a scale from 1 to 10, with the perfect 10 representing the ultimate babe. About a third of the couples had a more attractive wife, a third a more attractive husband and the remaining partners showed matching looks.

Overall, wives and husbands behaved more positively when the woman was better looking.

The finding "seems very reasonable," said Dan Ariely, a professor of behavioral economics at MIT's Program in Media Arts and Sciences and Sloan School of Management. "Men are very sensitive to women's attractiveness. Women seem to be sensitive to men's height and salary," said Ariely, who was not involved in the recent study.

In couples with more attractive husbands, both partners were less supportive of one another. McNulty suggests wives mirror, in some ways, the level of support they get from husbands.

"The husband who's less physically attractive than his wife is getting something more than maybe he can expect to get," McNulty told LiveScience. "He's getting something better than he's providing at that level. So he's going to work hard to maintain that relationship."

Men who are more attractive than their partners would theoretically have access to partners who are more attractive than their current spouses, McNulty said. The "grass could be greener" mentality could make these men less satisfied and less committed to maintain the marriage.

Physical attractiveness of husbands is not as important to women, the researchers suggest. Rather, wives are looking for supportive husbands, they say.

So it seems the mismatch in looks is actually a perfect match. "Equitable is unlikely to mean the same on every dimension," Ariely said during a telephone interview. "It just means that overall two people make sense together."

It was d B-O-M-B!

Went there with Sarah and Ned. Joined Reno and Ilya. Had fun like hell. I was damn tired cos didnt sleep at all d night before that. Went home around 5++am after sending Ilya to Petaling Jaya, Sarah and Ned to Putrajaya and Reno to Melawati. Slept for 4 hours before going to Formula One Circuit, Sepang. What a weekend lah =p

So malas weiii to write what else happened on that nite so i copied from party-ing mama's thanks yeah! *muahx muahx*

The weekend was fun-filled with Formula One events and activities. Other than the vantage cars and fashion shows, more interestingly, I got to meet some very cute, talented and humble world-renowned DJs!! And you might have guessed by now, that I'm actually referring to the DJs who performed at the SpeedZone Tour 2008!

Then there was Matt Hardwick. Remember what I said about him in my previous post, they he is so handsome and cute looking from all the publicity shots I got, right? Well, it has proven that my judgment was as accurate as a bee sting! He is as cute as I have imagined him to be, only chubbier lor. Maybe he has gained some extra pounds since it's winter now in UK. Yet, he still is cute, in a chubby way, not the hot hunk manner. Even my photographer said his skin texture is very good, pinkish and radiates light under the flash!! WOAH!!! So jealous!!!

However, Matt's skin is nothing compared to the beauty of his girlfriend lah!!! Clad in a devilish red GUICCI piece, she is S.U.P.E.R. S.I.Z.Z.L.I.N.G H.O.T ok!!! Deep set eyes, big wavy hair, tall slender curvey figure, copper-toned skin!! PWUAH!! I was just like an ugly duckling standing next to her lah. But then she did not despise me, instead was sooooo nice to have agreed to take a picture with me. *Mental note: Me must lose fat & transform from an ugly duckling to a gorgeous swan!*

Well i wanna share with u guys d info bout shisha @ hookah *not hooker yeah* In Klang Valley, there are various places to shisha..There are several best spots to go like Uncle Don Hartamas, Rasta TTDI, NZ Curry House, Suzi's Corner, Awrasha, Castle, Sahara Tent etc..Trust me u'l never regret it! =p

Shisha or hookah is a single or multi-stemmed (often glass-based) water pipe device for smoking. Originating in India,it has gained popularity, especially in the Arab World. It had gained popularity under the reign of the Ottoman Sultans. A hookah operates by water filtration and indirect heat. It can be used for smoking herbal fruits.

Components

Excluding grommets, a hookah is usually made of five components, four of which are essential for its operation.

The bowl

Also known as the head of the hookah, the bowl is a container, usually made out of clay or marble, that holds the tobacco and coal during the smoking session. It is covered in a small piece of tin foil and holes are made before the coal is placed on top.

Hose

The hose is a slender tube that allows the smoke to be drawn. The end is typically fitted with a metal, wooden, or plastic mouthpiece.

Body, Gasket, Valve

The body of the hookah is a hollow tube with a gasket at its bottom. The gasket itself has at least one opening for the hose. The gasket seals the connection of the body of the hookah with the water jar. It may have one more opening with a valve in it for clearing the smoke from the water jar not via the hose. In some cases the gasket may contain openings for more than one hose.

Water jar

Placed at the bottom of the hookah, the water jar is a container through which the smoke from the tobacco passes before it reaches the hose. By passing through water, the smoke gains moisture and is lowered in temperature. This makes inhaling the smoke of the hookah easier than that of a cigarette. Also the water jar allegedly functions as a filter for the smoke. The level of the water has to be higher than the lowest point of the body's tube in order for the smoke to pass through it. Liquids other than water may be added, such as a strong mixture of alcohol, spirit and/or fruit juice.

The plate

The plate is usually just below the bowl and is used for "dead" coals from previous smoking sessions. It is not vital for the operation of the hookah.

Grommets

Grommets in a hookah are usually placed between the bowl and the body, the body's gasket and the water jar and between the body and the hose. The reason for the usage of grommets although not essential (the usage of paper or tape has become common) will help to seal the joints between the parts, therefore decreasing the amount of air coming in and maximizing the smoke breathed in.

Operation

The jar at the bottom of the hookah is filled with water sufficient to submerge a few centimeters of the body tube, which is sealed tightly to it. Tobacco is placed inside the bowl at the top of the hookah and a burning charcoal is placed on top of the tobacco. Some cultures cover the bowl with perforated tin foil to separate the coal and the tobacco, which minimizes inhalation of coal ash with the smoke.

When one inhales via the hose, air is pulled through the coal and into the bowl. The air, hot from the charcoal, roasts, not burns, the tobacco, producing smoke. This smoke passes down through the body tube, which extends into the water in the jar. It bubbles up through the water and fills the top part of the jar, to which the hose is attached. When a smoker inhales from the hose, smoke passes into the lungs, and the change in pressure in the jar pulls more air through the charcoal, continuing the process.

The hookah's components must be sealed tightly with grommets, or air which does not flow through the coal will dilute the smoke.

How do you know if you’ve ever been in love? Most people would argue that although being in love with someone is non-tangible, there is absolutely no doubt in their mind of it existing. In fact, if you are questioning whether or not you are in love, then you are most certainly not.

While I do not doubt for a second the existence of being in love (albeit being one of those sad individuals yet to experience it), I am somewhat perplexed over our perception of what constitutes humanities most sought after experience.

For me, falling in love with someone is a decision made based on the successful matching of ones own predetermined criteria or preferences.

I fondly refer to the preliminary stage of partner selection as the ‘terminator glasses’ phase, since it filters through a potential mate’s attributes and matches them off against our own unique preferences.

On the New Years Eve just passed I went to meet friends at a bar where we would be celebrating the evening. There, waiting at the door with my friend, I saw HIM for the first time. I did a quick terminator scan:
Height: Around 6 foot. MATCH.
Build: Not too skinny, not too fat, not too buff. MATCH.
Hair: Short dark brown. Not over the top alla David Beckham. MATCH.
Complexion: Dark olive. MATCH.
Lips: Plump. MATCH.
Smile: Oh my God. MATCH.
Eyes: Big, brown, expressive, with long thick lashes. MATCH!
Stance: Gentle, not cocky. MATCH.
Nationality: Clearly foreign, probably Brazilian. MATCH.

With the terminator glasses still firmly planted on my face, the confirmed Brazilian was permitted to move onto the second part of phase one: interaction. This is often the most fatal part of any potential relationship, since every sentence uttered, every look given, and every movement is put through the filter of the terminator glasses. Any miss-match could lead to premature relationship death. Very little is forgiven during this part, especially if one’s program is set at ‘long term mate’. In saying this, it is also my favorite part of the process as it is the most fun. I see it as a game we both know we’re playing, but refuse to acknowledge as existing. One can withdraw from the game at anytime without repercussion (that is, of course, when both parties are working under the same set of rules. If this is not the case a few unwanted phone numbers are collected, followed by a few awkward conversations. And depending on how weak one is - unwanted dates followed by unwanted kisses, possibly ending in unwanted sex!).

Stage two, ‘the rose coloured glasses’ phase, is extremely dangerous and not usually approached with caution by either candidate. Depending on the impact of stage one, bombs warning ‘relationship doom’ could be dropped right in front of ones eyes, yet getting let go un-noticed. Everything appears and is, invariably, utterly workable. Despite my cynicism, this stage is defiantly more exciting than the terminator phase, albeit being laced with the fear of it all ending. The premature ‘I love you’ could escape ones mouth, falling like a ball onto a roulette table. The stakes are high, but it could also very well pay off and pass you onto stage three. Or not…

Declaring the title of stage three is difficult. And the truth is, I don’t know what to call it because I’m usually making my way to the green exit sign above the fire escape before you can say ‘marry me’.

My experience with stage three is that I usually realize Mr Perfect is human. I resist accepting him just the way he is, and try to point out where he is lacking (he is usually not so open to my constructive criticism. I wonder why?). This of course does not lead him to change his ways, but firmly ground himself in them (and resent me in the process). Love and commitment gets swapped with fear and dependence. Some stay to battle it out to the very end, most head straight for the green exit light.

People claim at this point that they have ‘fallen out of love’. My argument is that they were never in love in the first place. One of my favourite movies, ‘Moulin Rouge’, melodically states, “The greatest thing you will ever learn, is just to love, and be loved in return”. I believe this is what we think being in love is all about. Yet being loved in return implies that there is a condition to your giving love. So romantic love is conditional love. If romantic love only goes one-way, it is termed unrequited love or even ‘desperate’.

What if I said that true love can only be unconditional? And inside of that, true love can only mean 100% acceptance of the subject, just the way they are and just the way they’re not. What if love, real love, is just loving?
